Responsibilities Incumbent is the chief professional responsible for identifying, conceiving, developing and implementing products and programs to enter and grow Kennametals sales in new markets or expand existing markets. Primary responsibilities include: - Develop, Analyze, and Achieve global inorganic growth targets to ensure that Kennametal meets overall growth expectations (organic and inorganic).
- Maintain a pipeline of over $1B in potential candidates linked to company strategies and market segments.
- Align and analyze global opportunities as they pertain to strategies using enterprise prioritization tool.
- Close on at least one new acquisition target per year (could also be a joint venture, technology agreement, private labeling, etc.).
- Support MSSG divestitures as required in support of Mergers and Acquisitions team in Finance.
- Work intimately with the Mergers and Acquisition team in Finance to close on prospects.
- Work with enterprise branding and Product Management to implement acquisitions in alignment with existing processes and branding methodologies to ensure quick integration with minimal risks to agree upon financials
- Act as integration manager for smaller acquisitions, including extensive travel to locations globally
Role requires significant participation in Acquisition candidate presentation to the Mergers and Acquisitions council for selection, alignment to strategy and subsequent execution.

Requirements
This position requires an advanced degree such as an MBA or MS in a technical discipline (engineering, material science or metallurgy) plus a minimum of ten years experience in engineering, product/business development, or sales/sales management. Incumbent must be a broad strategic thinker with a strong entrepreneurial aptitude and the ability to identify, conceive and develop attractive business opportunities in new markets and applications that can be exploited with Kennametal core competencies. Incumbent must be able to interpret and translate broad concepts and ideas into detailed strategies, tactics and actions. Candidate must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally.
